Alicia Valdés is a material designer and artist based between Paris and Berlin, working at the intersection of biodesign, textiles, and fashion. Her practice is rooted in designing with and for nature, developing fully biodegradable materials and surfaces composed exclusively of natural ingredients such as bio-polymers and food waste. Through an investigative process that bridges scientific research and craftsmanship, she explores how material innovation can replace extractive production systems and propose regenerative ones instead. Valdés’s work seeks to expand the language of design by questioning our relationship to consumption, ecology, and the living matter that surrounds us.
