Kaden Bard Dawson (b. 1999, Bisbee, Arizona) is a queer Hispanic artist based in New York City whose interdisciplinary practice spans photography, film, performance, and installation. They examine how materiality, time, and the body shape memory, intimacy, and visibility within queer experience. Using alternative photographic processes such as cyanotype and sustainable dyeing, they reimagine digital imagery through tactile experimentation that emphasizes process, endurance, and transformation. They consider the erotic as a site of power and care, exploring how gesture and desire function as tools of preservation and resistance. Their film and performance extend these concerns into temporal and embodied spaces, situating the image as a living record of connection. Through this practice, they investigate how visual form can sustain queer lineage while offering tangible alternatives to dominant narratives.
