Sarah is a multidisciplinary artist based in Paris. She works across painting, and sculpture. (After earning a Bachelor in Fashion Design from the École Duperré and a master’s degree in Ecology of Arts and Media from Paris VIII, she studied sculpture and painting in New York City and Paris while assisting artists. ) She explores the multiple states of the embodied being: its cycles, its transformations, its hybridizations. Fluctuating between materiality and immateriality, this transitory body—in formation, decomposition, or dissolution—becomes a channel of expression, a threshold between different worlds. She perceives it as a space of passage, a shifting territory where the idea of metamorphosis is constantly replayed. Bodies freeze or dissolve into the landscapes, between earth and air… She asks herself: what becomes of the line or mass that distinguishes one being from another when the flesh disintegrates? How does matter, through its mutations and the memory it carries, become the medium for identities, both individual and collective? Her subjects are inspired in particular by visions that emerged during sessions of hypnosis or trance, where other layers of perception and reality manifest themselves.
