Yuhanxiao (Maggie) Ma is a research-driven multimedia artist and PhD student in Digital Arts & Experimental Media (DXARTS) at the University of Washington. Her practice lies at the intersection of speculative fiction, science, and ethics, combining parafiction with critical inquiry to examine how technological and biomedical systems shape lived experience and the often-overlooked consequences of innovation. Working across 3D fabrication, casting, physical computing, and multimedia installation, she builds interactive environments that invite reflection on how trust, evidence, and care take form. Her work has been exhibited internationally, including at Ars Electronica (Linz), and in New York, Barcelona, and Shanghai.
