Fugue Gallery is transforming. In May 2026, we're launching a new art gallery and design showroom in a 1000 sq ft loft at the edge of SoHo, in the heart of Little Italy - where everything and anything is possible.

OPEN CALL: We're warming up Fugue's new home with a 3 month multimedia exhibition and are open to forms of art aligned with the following theme:

THEME: "Transformation - things can be other things". We're seeking artwork/furniture/craft that is literally transformative, modular or multifunctional in nature, or seeks to transform the viewer/user. Think - a speaker that also functions as a lamp. A lenticular image that changes form when you move around it. A life changing short film. Or simply a depiction of transformation. 

MEDIUMS ACCEPTED: art, music, design, craft, dance, film, performance, dining

STYLE: Bonus if your work is or can fit within the style of Magical Realism. Magical realism is a style of storytelling and art that portrays a realistic, everyday world with magical elements but treats the supernatural as a normal, almost banal part of that reality. 

TIMING: The opening reception is scheduled to launch in tandem with NYC Design Week, alongside other art and design cultural events and fairs.  NYCxDESIGN Festival(May 16-23, 2024; May 2026),ICFF (International Contemporary Furniture Fair)(May 17-19, 2026),Frieze New York(May), AAPI Month
